to help drive tomorrow’s workforce of skilled automotive technicians
CAWA has named TechForce as one of its charities-of-choice, pledging to encourage its members to help in any of the following 6 ways:
1) Be a TechForce Champion. Contribute to CAWA’s impact by donating just $89 a month on a credit card or $1000 per year, per rooftop to fuel the mission and programs of TechForce Foundation. TechForce Champions program is for small businesses with $10M or less annual revenue. Larger strategic alliances can also be crafted. Learn more.
2) Volunteer. Donate your time to serve in your community, speaking at local tech schools, hosting future techs at events and field trips, or participate in area career fairs. Learn more.
3) Tech Testimonials. Do you know a 20-30 year old tech who rocks? Nominate them so TechForce can share stories of automotive tech’s passion and success. You have to ‘see it to be it’ so inspiring young people through the voice of their peers is important, but we need more stories! Submit one now.
4) Resource Finder. TechForce wants to build a “library” of resources on their website for students, working techs, instructors and employers, and we need quality materials to include. Share any great articles, tip sheets, videos that you think should be included. Submit here.
5) School Intros. Do you have a strong relationship with a local tech school? Provide a warm intro to TechForce at [email protected] so it can alert students to $2.3 million in scholarships, support for instructors and classrooms, and offer field trips, student experiences and networking opportunities.
6) Participate in TechForce Campaigns. CAWA members are asked to participate (at no cost) in TechForce’s social media campaigns, such as the Grab the Wheel and Techs Rock Awards, to help promote the profession. So follow, like, share and repost TechForce’s social media to build respect for techs. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram
